We are indeed using Ubercart, mostly because we started with it ages ago and haven't had any problems.
I don't have much to say about the experience of using it other than it does what we need, even if it's sometimes a bit cumbersome (like the process for managing stock for similar items, think a single shirt in different sizes or setting up shipping).
Uber cart has been fine, but it doesn’t trigger custom auto reply’s with the purchase.
We would NOT recommend UberCart. We have shifted to Big Commerce. And after about a year of set up and use, we’d highly recommend Big Commerce for a small to mid-sized organization.
I am using Ubercart for drupal 7.x, it is a phenomenal drupal module. I was one of its earliest users and participated in the initial testing before it was fully deployed.
The developers (Ryan Szrama) have moved on to a commerce module, which I believe is more suitable for drupal 8.x.
To use Ubercart you need to first know how drupal works -- that can be a bit of a challenge. But once you get it all figured out, Ubercart is endlessly customizable.
My little record store is not terrible busy, so my store is quite basic. Online LP sales is a hobby for me, not a real job. :)
it's a outdated and deprecated project at this point. It's was and still is a decent project, but, you would be stupid to build a new website with it.
It’s worked, but I’ve not been very happy with it. I built a site a little while back using WordPress and Woocommerce and it was much easier and more streamlined. However, this was using the paid bundle. I guess you get what you pay for.
For the most part, it's really easy to use and understand because of the WYSIWYG interfacing. The biggest drawback is that it doesn't keep inventory on the individual items.
It seems to be working seamlessly. We have had it for a number of years now without any issues. We would definitely recommend it.
Ubercart is already out of date. It is better to use Commerce for a large project, for a small one - OpenCards - IMHO
I have been using Ubercart for several years. It has served my business very well, and continues to do so. It works for me in Drupal 7 and has been ported to the new Backdrop CMS. At one point, I experimented with Drupal 8 and Drupal Commerce, but have temporarily put the project on hold.
Here's the challenge - I am a one person business where I not only make all the products myself, but also do all the web site work. I had successfully set up Drupal 8 and Commerce, and was finally successful in getting my hosting service to allow all the modifications necessary for Composer. Then the next update to Drupal 8 broke the whole thing! I put way too much time into the whole thing, only to see it collapse in smoke.
I do not yet have a solution to the problem. However, at this point I continue to use Drupal 7 and Ubercart. Drupal 8 and Commerce are great, but Drupal 8 seems to be focused on larger organizations that have more extensive time/money for web site maintenance. It could be that Backdrop CMS will emerge as a more appropriate environment for small businesses - that is their claim - but time will tell...
Drupal has only 2 options for commerce; Commerce and Ubercart. Frankly, I picked Ubercart because MGCO is a volunteer organization and Ubercart was, to me, much easier to deploy than Commerce. I also used Ubercart on a couple other sites. On the other hand, Drupal has already moved to Commerce as the primary commerce module and had I more in-depth knowledge it would be likely that I would try to wrap my head around Commerce as that module seems to be the long term solution.
I have had no problems with Ubercart beyond any of my own clumsiness. Ubercart was designed for products, but we sell fees to events (like tickets) and were able to make some tweaks and add some modules to make it do some pretty involved stuff. We have been happy with it.
it's work for us, some things was a little complicated to configure but after this we are fine.
i have had no problems. used it for years
Only if mid-range tech skills -
I would recommend it.
We are no longer using Ubercart. We use Infusionsoft now.
Yes, I would recommend Ubercart
It's pretty outdated now, and is replaced by Drupal Commerce...
Ubercart satisfied our needs. It's very useful.
i would. Does what it should :)
